I just recently took a course on feminist and queer studies. In my spare time, I looked up some feminist artists to study and maybe even do a project on. I stumbled upon Hannah Wilke, an American photographer and artist. She was born in 1940 in New York, and used photography and painting as mediums to express feminist values, as well as express sexuality, and the nature of femininity.
She has done a series of photos in which she puts flowers, stones, and other items on her body. Her minimalist style meshes well with the stark and blunt messages she has to share with her audience.
